09:00-10:00 HOTEL - VISIT CANNON OF JAPAN ARMY

Morning after breakfast leave from hotel by car to Kampung Baru Ilir villages, at “Asrama Bukit” area, where there is old cannons of Japanese army. The position of these cannon indicates that Balikpapan is strategic defense place. From a place of 2500 m2 width we can see Balikpapan City, refinery and Balikpapan bay.

10:00-10:30 VISIT MUSEUM MULAWARAMAN

This museum located at Kampung Baru area, This museum is manage by Indonesian Military (Kodam Mulawarman). In this museum you can see various kinds of weapons, documentation, and simple medical device that use during war at Balikpapan; and also history about Indonesian army.

10:30-11:30  KEBUN SAYUR MARKET  

Visiting our local souvenirs market. Mostly well known of its gemstone collections and traditional Borneo’s herb medicine. The are also some of fabrics and various art & culture of Dayak people.

11:30-12:20 VISIT DAHOR HERITAGE

Visiting the housing complex of an oil company in colonial era. One of the house already restored as a gallery for pictures and photos of Balikpapan at colonial era, Balikpapan’s historical moments, and Balikpapan’s various place of interest.

12:20-12:50 AUSTRALIAN MONUMENT

Visit the Australia Monument, a memorial for Australian soldier that join Allied Forces in the Balikpapan Raid (Operation Oboe Two) during the World War II (1 July 1945 until the surrender of Japan on August 14, 1945).

13:20-14:30 LUNCH TIME   (Lunch will serve in the local restaurant)

14:30-15:10 VISIT NISSEN HUT

Afterward, we will continue to see nissen hut, a half-cylindrical prefabricated steel structure for various military use. Designed during the First World War by the engineer and inventor Major Peter Norman Nissen, it was used extensively during the Second World War. There are only two cities in Indonesia that still have this structure.

15:10-16:00 MONPERA BEACH

Visiting one of landing points used by Allied Force during The Operation Oboe Two.

16:00-16:30 KLANDASAN TRADITIONAL MARKET  (Sightseeing)

Seeing the local market of Balikpapan to get to know Balikpapan people.
