Itinerary

Day 1

Pangkalan Bun – Kumai – Tanjung Harapan Camp

Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun you’ll be met and transferred to Kumai for boarding to the Kelotok. Leaving Kumai River, you’ll have an opportunity to see riverfront life. Borneo has so many rivers so boat is the main transportation here. May you also see thousand high building like hotel with tiny holes, a semi-wild swift poultry to harvest its nest.

Cruising to Sekonyer River, the estuarine habitat with unique vegetation called mangrove, before your first stop to Tanjung Harapan Camp to see Orangutan feeding at 15.00 o’clock. Watch along the river bands for wildlife such as Proboscis Monkey-the endemic monkey in Borneo, Long-tailed Macaque, Red-leaf Monkey, Silvered Langur or birdlife along the riverside. After watching Orangutan, then continue on cruising up for overnight in the Kelotok. You’ll have time to relax, enjoying fresh air or do some primate spotting in the roosting tree while the boat find out a good place to tie up. Meals Provided L, D
Day 2

Sekonyer River—Camp Leakey—Night Walk

After having breakfast, boat will drive to Camp Leakey, the legendary Orangutan Rehabilitation Camp, where Prof. Birute MF. Galdikas started her study in early 1971. Boating a side creek through tea-colored water where you will see the magnificent reflection from the vegetation along the river, when lucky with you, the freshwater crocodile and other wildlife attractions could find a long river band.

After having lunch and departing to Camp Leakey, enjoying Orangutan Observation Site at 14.00 pm. If you wanna skip the observation site, boat will drive to the downstream. This is the best time to see Proboscis monkey and other wildlife in the riverbanks. Beautiful sunset also appearing in some different spot. Night walk can be an additional activities in Camp Leakey. Day 3

Sekonyer —Camp Leakey—Dipterocarp Jungle Walk

After a sunrise breakfast, you will enjoy a medium jubgle walk intothe dipterocarp rainforest. Spending the halfday by hiking through the Borneo rainforest, exploring peat swamp forest, lowland dipterocarp habitat, searching wildlife or enjoying varieties of fungi, orchid, slipper orchid, mosses and ferns, birds, and any wildlife. Back to the boat for lunch, then enjoying Orangutan feeding time at 14.00 pm. Cruising down to Sekonyer River in sunset time and have a short night walk to explore nocturnal animal before dinner time. Stay overnight on the boat. Meals Provided B, L, D
Day 4

Sekonyer River –Pondok Tanggui – Canoeing Sungai Buluh

After breakfast, boat will cruise to Pondok Tanggui, Orangutan Obser-vation station starting at 09.00. Orangutan is semi solitary so you will meet the different Orangutan in their different homerange-kind of ter-ritory. You can stay there till 11.00 and having a small jungle walk, then back to the boat for lunch. I will offer you to do this part differently, walking around for birds, insect and plants in the morning, passing by the orangutan observation site, and looking for more opportunities to see wildlife or orangutan in the natural habitat. Back to the boat for lunch, boat will cruise downstream to Sekonyer Village, more spending time in the river, wildlife spotting from the river. You’ll have time to relax, enjoying fresh air or do some primate spotting. We have a short walk to visit Sekonyer Village- a most wildlife friendly village laid side by side the national park. Sekonyer Village is a rural village on the border of Tanjung Puting National Park. This village is form by the history of Tanjung Puting since the status as Nature Re-serve with less than half of recent wide. You may see some locals with their daily live. People daily life is interesting to be observed before we explore the small black water river and canoeing through the Borneo rain forest, exploring the river, a peat swamp forest, lowland diptero-carp habitat, searching wildlife or enjoying varieties of trees. Accompa-nied by the villager and Pokdarwis a local tourism awareness group, you will have a time for exploring the black water river with small boat in the afternoon. In the evening, our boat will cruise downstream for sunset hunting, find out some nice place to tied up. Get ready for next morning. Meals: B, L, D
Day 5

Sekonyer River—Kumai—Pangkalan Bun

After breakfast, Boat will cruise into Sekonyer River. Boat will continue down river to Kumai. Lunch will be provided on the boat while cruising and spotting wildlife. The tour still not end, you still have 2 hours cruising down to Sekonyer River. Still any possibilities to see wildlife. Enjoying your coffee in the boat while exploring the river, may you meet Orangutan foraging in the tree around river bank. It will offer you incredible experience. Arriving Kumai, you will transported to the Airport to catch your flight. Please let me know in advance if you need to stop in the souvenir shop near by the town. Meals Provided B

Reservations are subject to availability of the Kelotok, local services, and the agreed travel schedule.

2. Flight Information

Guests are required to provide their flight details in advance so that airport transfers and the itinerary can be arranged properly.

3. Itinerary Changes

The itinerary may be adjusted according to weather conditions, river conditions, wildlife conditions, boat availability, flight schedules, and other circumstances beyond the operator's control.

4. Wildlife

Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Animals live freely in their natural habitat, and sightings depend on season, weather, river conditions, and natural animal behavior.

5. Optional Night Walk

The night walk is an optional additional activity and may be conducted on the first or second night depending on weather and flight schedules.

6. Peak Season

During peak season, particularly July–September, the itinerary and departure/arrival schedule may be affected. Guests are advised to provide their flight schedule in advance.

7. Late Check-Out

Late check-out until lunchtime may be accommodated only if the boat is available.

8. Additional Activities

Activities or services outside the agreed itinerary may incur additional charges.

9. Personal Responsibility

10. Conservation
